World War I Draft Registration: His obituary said he was aged 21 years, 11 months, and 18 days when he died at his home which was two and a half miles west of Lone Elm. The obituary says he died on Friday. A mother and a brother survived him. Burial would be in Lampasas. His death certificate said his father was A. J. Straley, born in Texas. His mother was Mary Fowler, born in Texas. Charles Straley of Lampasas, Texas, was the informant.
