Shared note

The following obituary is apparently from a Waco newspaper.
Former Waco Lady Dead.
Mesdames Bettie and Garfield Daniel have returned from Wichita Falls, where they attended the funeral of Mrs. Willie Nichols, who died in that city last Friday evening and was buried yesterday morning. Deceased was a daughter of Mrs. Bettie Daniel and a sister-in-law of Mrs. Garfield Daniel.
Mrs. Nichols, a former resident of Waco, had many friends here, this being her former home. Her sweet disposition and genial, lovable temperament made her a favorite with those who knew her. Hers was a sympathetic nature, which responded cheerfully and willingly to those in need of assistance. Her many kindly acts were rendered unobtrusively, and she was tireless in her efforts to relieve the distress of others. The most sincere condolence is extended the bereaved husband, the two children and other surviving relatives.
There is another obituary (source unknown).
Death of Mrs. Nichols.
At Wichita Falls, Texas, on Friday, February 24, Mrs. Willie Nichols, aged 28 years, died, after an illness of brief duration. She was a former resident of this city and was a daughter of Mrs. Bettie Daniel of North Waco and a sister of Garfield Daniel. Deceased grew to young womanhood in this city and was married about five or six years ago to Mr. Nichols who with two children, survive her. The funeral occurred at Wichita Falls on Saturday. Mrs. Bettie Daniel, the mother, and Mrs. Garfield Daniel, a sister-in-law, of this city, attended the funeral.
There is a list of children and birth dates written on a page from a memoranda book dated with calendars for Jan. and Feb. 1887 at the top of the page. The faded pencil writing has been written over in pencil. There is a chance for error here. However, It says that Willia Daisy Daughter of J. K. & E. C. Daniel was born Aug. 10, 1883. Research is needed here. A close look at the writing on the above mentioned page looks like whoever wrote over it might have made the 2 into a 3. There may be a loop at the bottom of the number characteristic of a two, but this is not very clear. The earlier date (given to me by Lenore Williams) corresponds to the death date that I was given. The 1900 census also shows a birth date of 1883.
