She appears in the 1880 census with her mother in the home of Joshua Parks Sorrels, listed as deaf and dumb and unable to read. In June of 1890, she appears in a list of outstanding student in the articulation classes of the Deaf and Dumb Institute in Austin, Texas. That list was published in the Austin Weekly Statesman of Austin, Texas. She was listed as Georgie Straley. In the book Texas Trails of our Tollett Family she is shown married to T. J. Rogers in Lampasas County, Texas, 12 Sep 1895. She is buried with her husband Thomas Jefferson Rogers, apparently verifying their marriage. Harney Rogers of Happy, Texas was the informant on her death certificate. Viola Ruth Heflin, 28 Jun 1911 - 23 Aug 1996, is buried beside her in the Granite City Cemetery, using the same marker that marks the graves of Thomas Jefferson Rogers and Georgia. This might be a child.
