Beyond our Elusive William Daniel

1880 shows him age 32, AL GA GA, alone. Sug was the half-sister of Anderson Stringer. Ringstaff (1959) says "...had 10 children, 1 died at age 3 days. Nine are living, all married and have nice families. Uncle Tom was a sawmill man. He operated a mill for many years. He could tell the exact number of feet of lumber in a tree. His children were all well educated. Aunt Georgia was a sister of Ashley & General Stringer. "Big" Tom was my father's brother.

NOTE: The strange thing about this census record is that it says that Georgia is the mother of 10 children, and nine children were living. However ten were listed. Some information indicates that Joseph was stillborn, but his age is given here as 15. Somehow the information does not seem to work out right.
