Shared note

From H. V. Addison's letter: ... I can say the same (I knew) of Madison (Jim) Ficklin & wife Sarah Nichols Ficklin, but can not remember the names of their children. Eli Ficklin & his mother kindly cared for me part of the time. She was a sister to Jimmie Daniel, Thomas Daniel, Edom Daniel & Dora Daniel..." The 1870 & 1880 census shows Sary in Covington Co. 1870 has a 9 yo Seaborn F?? Mr. Addison calls himself 80 years old, (died 30 May, 1961 bur New Ebenezer Bapt. Ch. Cem, born Nov. 12 1867. Sary listed at Brea Church as Saray Jane Ficklin. The last part of the year of her birth is torn off in Thomas Daniel Bible, but is found on her tombstone in Fairmont Cemetery, Red Level, AL According to the 1900 Covington Co. census, she had 3 children living and 3 dead at that time. Living: Eli Christopher, James Madison & Frances. Dead were: Seaborn Ficklin and 2 unknown.

We MUST find this family on the 1860 census somewhere! Also look at the 1866 Alabama State census. She was in Covington Co in 1870-80-1900.
