He served as Pvt./Sgt. Co F & M, 5th Reg't, Ga. Vol Inf in the CSA. According to the group photo of a York family gathering (his stepsister's family), Uncle Tom, Uncle John (called sons of Abel & Penelopy) & Aunt Lizzie and Aunt Mat were identified on the front, later identified with comments. Aunt Mat was called Matilda not Martha so research is needed. T. J. gave (with others) 2 acres of land to the church founded by his wife's parents, Mt. Olive Methodist Church, formerly Spring Hill Church, founded about 1840 (as the answer to Jane Foreman's prayer for a church where her children could hear the Word of God preached). Since there are other Daniels buried at the Foreman Cemetery, "near his (James Foreman) home", and since an Agnes Lucille Daniel married Wm Newton Foreman in 1926, there are likely to have been at least one son born to this couple. The Mt Olive Church records being the place to start a search. Then the obits for Daniels buried in Foreman Cem. (Pages 76-77, 249-250, & 489-490 for Foreman information, "Hist. of Webster Co.") Mt Olive-Chamblisston Community - about 3 miles north of Parrott, GA where State Hwy crosses from Terrell Co into Webster Co.... areas from both Terrell & Webster Cos. are considered part of the community... Culpeppers, Foremans, Hardwicks, Daniels,... (Webster Co., p. 36-38) There is a record of a T. J. Daniel, 30 married to Martha, 24 on the 1850 census of 1850 in Butler County, AL. (James Daniel, information obtained on-line at Ancestry.com) However, since there is such a discrepancy in dates, there is doubt that this is the correct family. In addition, the birth information on the census has the wrong state.
