He was the bondsman for the marriage of his sister-in-law Cordelia. His mother, Mary Brock, was of his household, #99, 1880 census, Lowndes Co. She was 73, mother - widow, born SC, her parents also SC. In that census, Peter was 49, a miller, born SC, as are both his parents. In 1870, Butler Co. HH #495, he is age 39, farmer, born SC. The information on his children is from these two records. His sons are all at home in both census records, Theo appearing in only 1880, having been born after 1870. John's grave stone says "(CSA)". A newspaper clipping from the Montgomery Advertiser, Oct. 11, 1909 reads: "Mr. And Mrs. A. F. Brock entertained delightfully at dinner yesterday, at their home on Mildred Street, in honor of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Brock. The dinner was in the nature of a family reunion, members of the family throughout the State being present. Covers were laid for twenty-five and the table was adorned with a centerpiece of Killarney roses and ferns. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Brock will celebrate the fifty-fourth anniversary of their marriage in December."
