BEMcC, 7 Dec 1980 continued: "... had 3 children that I know of. I went to school with all of them. His oldest son, J. T. and I worked for the same firm here in Montgomery for about 12 years. Offie was a school teacher for many years, then later a bookkeeper. He was as fine a man as I've ever known.

On his WW I Draft registration he was Jacob T. Smith, Rt. #4, Luverne, AL, born 14 Dec 1894, in Crenshaw County, AL. His current occupation was listed as Farm Land, and he was employed by J. W. He was not bald. It was dated 5 Jun 1917 in Crenshaw County, AL.
