It is unclear whether Rufus Shreeves was the son of Eugenia and David Shreeves, and whether he married and was the father of Annie Thomas's children. Broyce suspects both are true, but with enough reservation not to list him as a child. He possibly should not be listed as husband or father either. He has been left in only so that his name will index. In the 1920 census, Annie was living with her mother and listed as a widow. She had two children, Theo and Beatrice, living with her. Was she really a widow, or perhaps separated or divorced? Why are there two more children born to her during the next few years if she was a widow? More research needed.
