Do not confuse this T. J. D, with the 2 other TJD. They all appear to have been in the Civil War, but the known record belongs to R3460, son of Theo & Penny Goodson Daniel. Theophilus J. Daniel served as a petit juror in precinct 6 of Butler County in September 1853 during the first week of court. The court session was held in the Presbyterian meeting house. (This was following a courthouse fire.) CEMcD notes, p 99: Real Estate Book 12-425 "At Saville in Beat 13, Crenshaw Co, T. J. and Malinda, his wife mortgaged 80 acres less 5 to Mrs. M. J. Ellison on 29 Jan 1874. In 1880, (pg. 78) in Jackson, AL, Malinda 32, like her sister, with parents born NY & TN. 1870 census (Ruthledge, Crenshaw, Alabama, township 10, page 73): 145/145, Daniel, Theopalus, 26, m, w, farming, 250, 450, AL
