He had red hair (Information on notes provided by Wes Mays. Copy of notes) He was a private in Captain Elias T. Seals Company K. (also known as company F and Company G) 13th regiment, Texas Cavalry, Organized at or near Crockett in Houston County, TX. the unit surrendered May 26 in New Orleans, LA. He is listed on a Roll of Prisoners of War, and paroled in the field in August 1865. His residence is listed as Jasper Co., TX. Funeral Notice (provided by Wes Mays in the Barrett Family Notes): The friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend the funeral of Willis Taylor Barrett Who died on Friday, May 15 1903 aged 76 years, four months and fifteen days. Funeral Services will be held at residence in East Dublin, Texas at 2 O'clock. Burial will take place at the Cottonwood Cemetery at 4 O'clock p. m. to-day. |
