Shared note
|
Where was he when his wife appeared in the census records without him (1900)? The census records said she was married, not that she was a widow. When he applied for an emergency passport to work in Colombia (Issued 7 Nov 1917) he was employed as a construction foreman on behalf of the Municipal Engineering Division of the Panama Canal. He wanted to work in Colombia in the mining business. He was traveling with his wife Carlotta Mendes, so his previous marriage to Vincenta had probably ended in divorce, although Vicenta was listed as married on the 1920 census. |
