The California Death records show his born 2 Oct 1899, but this appears to incorrect. Census records and the Social Security Death records verify the year as 1898.

Note: The divorce possibly took place in Comanche county, with Jackson Gordon Daniel moving to Waco afterwards in time for the murder charge. Or the divorce might have happened in Waco and she moved back. More research needed. It is also possible that the murder charge could have caused the end of the marriage.

Census records seem to indicate a possible date of cir 1927. That does not match cemetery and military records, however. Unless the military records were not correct? Perhaps the wrong birthdate was given and he entered at a younger age? More research needed.

Marriage

They were married by John A. Gardner, PM, G. M. & C. S.

Divorce

The divorce possibly took place in Comanche county, with Jackson Gordon Daniel moving to Waco afterwards in time for the murder charge. Or the divorce might have happened in Waco and she moved back. More research needed. It is also possible that the murder charge could have caused the end of the marriage.

Shared note

These children were previously believed to belong to Ettie. The census evidence indicates otherwises. in the 1910 census she was the mother of three children, and three were still living.

She is in the 1920 census in Comanche County, Texas, justice precinct 1, enum. dist. 68, sheet 6B, Series: T625 Roll: 1789 Page: 20
129/131, Daniel, Lura C., head, o, m, f, w, 42 (or 43, it was marked over and unclear), wd., TX, AL, TX, postmaster
-----Olan U. son, m, w, 21, s, TX, FL, TX, electrician (he was also the enumerator that counted this census record)
------Myrtle L. Daughter, f, w, 17, s, TX, FL, TX, none
Another family (named Walker) lived with them and rented.
Orestus must be elsewhere, since the son who took the census seems to be the younger son. Orestus would have been 27 at that time, old enough to be elsewhere. It is possible that Orestus is deceased since he is not on the list of Jackson Gordon Daniel's children in his obituary. The surviving son is shown as O. U. Daniel, and it is known that Olan was still alive at that time. When did Orestus die? More research needed on this family.
