Shared note

In 1992, she has the trunk with the Thomas Daniel Bible, his son James H.'s Bible and many other assorted papers, which will be entered in this database as we get to them. She plans to leave the Bible to Faye Green, PO Box 2, Red Level, AL 36474. Marcella Messer and Robert Terry have copies of everything. Velma says that she remembers her mother talking about moving to Covington Co from Honoraville, AL and that they camped out in the woods on the 2 day trip.

She also said she believes the Moores (Henrietta's family) came from around Blakely, GA. Henrietta's sister Jane lived with her for a time in Covington. They had a brother named "Willie". Velma says the small bible in the trunk (in her possession) was carried by James H. Daniel in the Civil War. When Velma's sister Mary Elizabeth was dying, she asked Velma to take the baby Ruby Faye, and their mother, Madora, took the other child, Mary Jo Sanford.
