Gerald Lee Daniel, 80, passed away peacefully at home in Navarre, FL, after a short, courageous battle with cancer on Monday, March 11, 2013.

He was born on December 12, 1932, in Tuskegee, Alabama, and lived in Tuskegee, Alabama, Auburn, Alabama, and Navarre, Florida. He was the owner of Daniel's Clothing from 1972 to 1995.

He is preceded in death by his parents John Tyson Daniel, Sr. and Ethel Hart Daniel, and a brother John Tyson Daniel, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Janelle Dyson Daniel; two daughters Renee Daniel Culverhouse (Charles E.) of Southside, Alabama, and Leigh Daniel Brown (Charles D.) of Navarre, Florida; two sons Gerald Lee Daniel, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama, and Thomas Dyson Daniel (Laura W.) of Auburn, Alabama; four grandchildren Danielle C. Coburn, S. Lee Daniel, Paul R. Daniel and Chris H. Daniel; four great-grandchildren; and one brother C. Floyd Daniel of Searcy, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

He led an active life and enjoyed running, walking and biking. He was a running back for Auburn University in 1951.

Visitation will be held at Corbitt's Funeral Home, Tuskegee, Alabama, on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. with graveside services at Tuskegee Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.
