Shared note

Rose Carlson gave information that came from the obituary and articles in the Arkansas Gazette Newspaper regarding the death of Anna May (Mayme) and her husband Eric. They and their son Herbert were in an accident in which a train hit their car which was stalled on the railroad tracks. It happened just fifty yards from the train station. Mayme jumped out of the car and grabbed her son. She tried to run, but she was nevertheless injured, and apparently died within fifteen minutes of the crash. Eric was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas where he died three days later. The family had returned from a vacation in Canada, and were close to the Leveck home where they had planned to visit for a few weeks. Eric had just obtained a contract to teach at St. Joseph's.
