A John Robert Corley, Jr. and wife Ellen Dickson had a son named David Dickson Corley 12 Mar 1933 in Navarro County, Texas. Is this the same John R. Corley? They also had a son named John Robert Corley, III, on 23 Jul 1929 in Potter County, Texas. Also, a John Corley, Jr. and wife Lillie V. McClure had a son named John Corley, III, on 1 Feb 1943 in Nueces County, Texas. Any relation?

The 28 May 1923 edition of the Mexia Daily News said he had just returned from Houston the previous Sunday where he had been attending the Texas Funeral Directors Association. He had taken and passed his embalmers exam given by the Texas State Board of Embalmers while he was there.

In 1929 he purchased a stately residence on on the west side of the courthouse in Corsicana, Texas and established the Corley Funeral Home of Corsicana. Later, John R. Corley III (Bob) joined the family business.
