Shared note	A William is recorded between 1812 and 1813 at the Darien Baptist Church, in Washington Co GA. He is also in census of 1820, Emanuel Co., GA. Emanuel County was made from Montgomery Co which was taken from Washington Co. A study of county genisus & land deeds is needed to definitely identify this William and separate him from all the others. (His father may be the one mentioned in the Church records.) If not his father, this is probably the William who joined Black Creek Church, and transferred to Darien Church Hancock Co., GA (then Washington Co.). Twiggs Co., made from Wilkinson Co., in 1809. The Nye notes show his birth date and gives Twiggs Co. as the place for William F., son of this Wm. (10 Feb 1824). The family was probably in Randolph Co. no later than 1836/40, having come from Twiggs with the Ephriam Ellis family. William's birth is given as abt 1790 in the 1850, born in NC; and abt 1788 in the 1860 census, still born in NC. This would make him one of the older children, and the possible twin of Francis Marion, if the 1860 information is correct. His descendants were leaning toward the 1850 information in the scanty information now in the file. Mrs. Gene (Lucile) Wills of Preston, GA, has Francis Marion & Willy as twins and Thomas & Able as twins. She also says Willy married Temperance in Twiggs Co, GA. Supposedly he was in Washington Co in 1812; Crawford Co in 1840, Randolph Ct (which became Terrell Co) in 1850. A more thorough census search of the various counties in GA should be made, as no such information (organized copy) is currently available in the file. One of the descendants, Mrs. Arliffa Powell, says her "grandfather" ran away from home after being punished for hurting his little sister Arliffa. He worked his passage to California, then wandered to Georgia. Uncle Jimmie Davis, father's brother chose the name Arliffa, because of this story. Arliffa Marietta Temperance Davis. Could Arliffa story belong to the Davis side, as all Census information says Wm Sr. was born in VA and Wm Jr. in NC.
